Easter Joy at Seaview Nursing Home: Bunny Visit & Live Music for Residents

News | April 20, 2025

Spring arrived in full bloom at Seaview Nursing Home as we celebrated Easter with a cheerful and uplifting event that brought smiles, laughter, and a touch of seasonal magic to our residents. With a surprise visit from the Easter Bunny and a delightful live singing performance, this year’s Easter celebration was truly one to remember.

A Festive Springtime Atmosphere

The nursing home was beautifully adorned with Easter-themed decorations, from colourful bunting and painted eggs to vases of fresh spring flowers. Residents and staff alike got into the spirit of the season, wearing pastel colours and sharing in the joyful anticipation of the day’s festivities.

Easter holds special significance for many of our residents, symbolising renewal, hope, and new beginnings. It was important to us that the day reflected these themes, creating a warm and welcoming environment for all.

A Visit from the Easter Bunny

The highlight for many residents was a visit from the Easter Bunny — a cheerful staff member in full costume, complete with floppy ears, a fluffy tail, and a basket full of sweet treats. The Bunny made their way around the home, handing out chocolate eggs, posing for photos, and bringing plenty of smiles and laughter to the morning.

For residents with dementia or mobility challenges, the Easter Bunny offered a particularly special kind of joy. The light-hearted costume, playful gestures, and personalised interactions helped lift spirits and encourage meaningful engagement. One resident was overheard saying, “I haven’t laughed like that in years!” — a wonderful reminder of the power of a little whimsy.

Live Music to Brighten the Day

In the afternoon, the celebration continued with a live musical performance in the lounge. A talented local singer performed a variety of classic tunes and well-loved songs from the 1950s and 60s, interspersed with light-hearted Easter favourites. The music created a warm, nostalgic atmosphere, inviting residents to sing along, tap their feet, and even enjoy a gentle dance with staff.

The performance was tailored to our residents’ preferences, blending upbeat melodies with soothing ballads that encouraged reminiscence and connection. It was heart-warming to see how many residents lit up at the sound of familiar songs — some singing along from memory, others simply smiling and swaying to the rhythm.

Sweet Treats and Shared Moments

Of course, no Easter celebration would be complete without a selection of sweet treats. Our kitchen team prepared a lovely afternoon tea, featuring hot cross buns, mini chocolate eggs, and freshly baked cakes. Residents enjoyed the refreshments in the company of friends and staff, chatting about their Easter memories and favourite traditions.

Family members who were able to visit also joined the celebrations, making it a truly communal occasion. For those unable to attend in person, video calls and photo updates helped share the joy of the day with loved ones.

A Celebration of Togetherness

At Seaview Nursing Home, Easter is more than just a seasonal holiday — it’s an opportunity to bring people together, uplift spirits, and create meaningful moments for those in our care. The combination of festive fun, heartfelt music, and shared laughter made this Easter a bright and memorable occasion for everyone involved.

Our thanks go to the dedicated staff who helped bring the day to life, the wonderful singer who shared their talent with us, and of course, the Easter Bunny — whose joyful antics reminded us all of the simple pleasures of the season.

Looking Ahead

As we move through spring and look forward to more celebrations throughout the year, we remain committed to making life at Seaview Nursing Home full of joy, dignity, and connection. This Easter reminded us just how powerful shared experiences can be — whether it’s through music, laughter, or a surprise visit from a fluffy friend.

From all of us at Seaview Nursing Home, we wish you a happy, peaceful, and hopeful Easter season.
